YOKE

Work in Development

Yoke is a new dance-theatre work in development. Yoke refers to the act of joining together, coupling and attachment, through the lens of diverse experiences within relationships. Currently in development is a series of interconnected partner works that explore duality, co-existence, multiplicity, and interdependence from a place of singularity. Exploring couplings and interpersonal relationships that reflect the diverse experiences from within the artistic team and how we currently view the mechanics of relationships. How do we attempt to connect with others and form relationships; and what are the conditions in which we come together, willingly or not? How do we relate to and express needs, wants, desires and expectations within relationships? How do we do this when our dominant mode of communication differs from the majority?

Currently supported by the La Boite x Mad Dance House Residency and first stage development funded by the Undercover Artist Festival grants program.
